7 amazing dinner experiences to try in Singapore

Continuing on the list of 7s, this time I bring to you ideas for satisfying your growling tummies during dinner time! Enjoy!

1| Chinese steamboat

A Chinese steamboat experience consist of a communal dining experience. Your guests and you sit around a hot boiling pot of water and everyone cooks their food in that pot. The soup broth gives the food its taste. The soup broth gets tastier each time more food is placed into the pot. One of the more popular Chinese steamboat places is Hai Di Lao. You can find them at Clarke Quay, 3 River Valley Road, #02-04. You will need to take the lift to get to the restaurant. Do come early as the crowds are known to come in from 6pm onwards. Let me let you in on a secret. There's a noodle guy who entertainers the crowd from table to table with his noodle tossing skills. Catch him in action as he tries to amaze you with his spinning skills.

2| Thai bbq

Another craze which has caught on the bandwagon in Singapore is experiencing a Thai bbq for dinner. Diners choose what food they want and grill them over a metal pot. The base of the pots also come with an option which you can use to boil your food. But of course, the fun part is seeing your food sizzle and cook as you place them over the metal dome shaped hotpot. I would recommend going to the one called Mookata, Traditional Thai BBQ at 103 East Coast Road S(428797)

3| Western Steak Dinner

There are many steak outlets in Singapore and it's worth trying one when you are in need of a quiet dinner. Many of our steak diners are helmed by world renowned chefs and offer steaks cooked with lots of finesse. Do try out the steaks at Bedrock Bar and Grill. They are sure to impress! Address: Pan Pacific Serviced Suites, 96 Somerset Road, #01 - 05 (S238163). The restaurant is next to Marche at Somerset313.

4| Buffet

Singapore is a heaven for buffet lovers. And when we say buffet, we mean a wide selection of food to choose from. From your appetizer to your mains to your dessert, you will be spoiled for choice. There are numerous places which offer dinner buffets but I would recommend you try out one from a hotel. If you have the time, try the famous international buffet at The Line, at Shangri La Hotel. You won't regret it. Address: Shangri-La Hotel, 22 Orange Grove Road, S(258350).

5| High rise dining

With so many high rise buildings, dining with a view is worth an experience in Singapore. Such places are usually very romantic and the perfect place to bring your date. Some tourists usually arrive when the sun is about to set to see the beautiful sunset and after which, slowly moving on to appreciate the lovely dazzling lights from the surrounding skyscrappers. Salt Grill & Sky Bar by world acclaimed Luke Mangan is situated on the 55th floor of ION Orchard and one awesome place for high rise dining.

6| Korean bbq

This is another craze in Singapore worth experiencing. This bbq would see you barbecuing lots of korean meats and vegetables that come in different flavours. Another added feature of a korean bbq is having korean liquor to go with the bbq. Take your pick from the different types of korean rice wine and beers available. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the E!GHT Korean BBQ in Clarke Quay Central. Do try the 8 colour set to have a taste of the different flavours of pork. Address: Clarke Quay Central, #02-79 S(059817)

7| Eating with sea animals

Imagine eating with a view of animals swimming across you. Well, that's possible in Singapore at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora. Helmed by Singapore's first Iron Chef, this experience is one of its kind in the region. Located in Resorts World Sentosa, 'swim' your way to this restaurant. Address: SEA Aquarium, Resorts World Sentosa, S(098269).
